The story of Enbound
Guitarist Jonathan Nyberg and drummer Mike Cameron Force started working together in the printing industry in Borås during 2006. Currently Jonathan still played with Crystal Eyes who at that point was in the studio recording their fifth album. Mike had earlier player with two of Jonathan’s younger brothers in the band Zonata who had recorded three records, but it was not until now that they learned to know each other. Mike who also works a lot in the studio had a bunch of his own projects going on; Mike Cameron Force, Kabatoa, Mike Jackson and a bit more serious project called EntelBelegria. -Hollywood rock! As Mike describes it. Jonathan liked the music of EntelBelegria and was invited to lay down some guitars on a few songs, and he got stuck in that position and the musical cooperation was in the running.
However, during the recording of the fifth Crystal Eyes-album Jonathan’s wife got very ill and Jonathan therefore got difficulties being present in the studio. This became a negative affect for Crystal Eyes since they felt pressured to make the record on time, so Jonathan decided to put the guitar on the shelf.
Already two days after his decision he panicked and desperately tried to get a hold of Mike. After hearing around with different people it seemed Mike was at a concert in Fristad church, so Jonathan jumped into the car and drove off. Through the gates Jonathan blasts through and shouts, Mike! We have to start a new hard rock band! Mike finds it awesome and they join ideas at once for what would be the sound and feeling of this new band. They decide to have Germanys Rage as starting point for the sound and see where it naturally leads to. But they also need a few other members to complete a band line-up. Crystal Eyes had earlier had an audition for a new singer for the fifth album and Jonathan remembered this awesome dude from Skåne who'd been there, or was he from Karlstad?
7:40 a.m. a Thursday morning Jonathan gives him a call, Hello! It's the hard rock police from Borås! How are things in Karlstad? Makkan (prev. Stentorian) doesn't understand one bit, What? I live in Skåne... How the conversation progressed no one knows for sure but Makkan was not late on jumping on Mike's and Jonathans train. Makkan was previously the singer of Simrishamns Stentorian, but then it went off to Gothenburg for studying musical performance at the ballet academy. He came to his senses though and realized he should go for hard rock star instead of ballerina! And now the new formation started to record the two first songs, Running Free and Under A Spell.

Mike temporarily plays the bass as it still is missing one member in that spot. But then he remembers that his acquaintance Sven (prev. Ibidiah) play bass. They had met at the bar (not in that sense!) a few weeks before Jonathan hatched the whole idea about a band. Mike had noticed that a tattoo slightly appeared under Sven's sleeve, the shape of a bass. Mike had no clue that Sven played any instrument at all but it was good finding out since it's difficult finding good bassists. At this point the new band did not yet exist, but a contact was made for an eventual future cooperation. And then the day when Mike needed a bassist came and the new band was now complete! Sven, who have had a break from the funk-rock-blues-grunge he played earlier, had more or less decided to put the music on ice for a while to do other things. But here Mike came with a great idea and Sven did not hesitate one second after hearing the material.
With one burger each at Max in Borås, the new band sat and discussed what they were going to call themselves. Many good and bad ideas floated around, but they agreed they needed a short and concise name which could stand for the members common ideas about making music while at the same time stand for the individual digressions which colour the basic idea. It became a combination of bound and unbound, Enbound!
During the upcoming year, 2007 that is, ten or so songs were recorded and just as many shorter ideas of future songs were written. Enbound is a perfect example of that you can write music on a distance! Four of the songs were picked out and was mixed and mastered by Mike in collaboration with the rest of the band. They put them on a self produced four track promo disc which was released in early 2008. Not long after a video to the song Wicked Pirates was shot, this also self produced. The promo got out to the most important media channels and to a careful picked out choice of record companies. The response was very positive and many good contacts was established.

After the summer of 2008, Enbound decided to part ways with guitarrist Jonathan - This because of issues he had combining the family life, with the dedication required to be a part of Enbound. Unfortunately it reached a point where it was no longer bearable and he had to be released from the band. This was not an easy decision in any way, but for the sake of the band it had to be done.
"We are still good friends and there are no hard feelings - We wish Jonathan nothing but joy and fortune!" - Mike, Makkan, Swede
Of course this was a setback for Enbound, but just for a couple of days - Mike knew exactly who to make a phone call to.... ...and the, at the time, 17 year old Martin 'the Butcher' Floberg was brought into the band - the guitar prodigy gladly accepted the offer to join Enbound at once.
However not soon after, Makkan decided to leave the train and pursuit in an other metal direction. Nothing to say really, if that's his goals, those are the goals. But the Enbound mentality still had it's feet comfortable on the ground. Finding a singer couldn't be such of a fuzz eh? And there was an album to record for friggin sake.
In April 2009 Enbound entered the studio as a three man freight train, laying down the tracks of the debut full length album. The thought was, if this record takes four years to finish, so be it, we're not releasing it until it's utter perfection. At the same time they went through various demos from singers trying their luck. None of them could meet the requirements, until.....Lars "Lee Hunter" Säfsund blew the three clowns off their feet.
Lars recorded a rough vocal demo for Combined the Souls and without saying, well; it made three jaws drop. Since then Enbound has been busy polishing the music and in times of writing, april 2010, one year after beginning to record, the album is near the finish line. As usual there aren't much details revealed abount anything. Just sit tight and await the best songs you've ever heard. Peace.
